Medical Outreach

The annual medical and dental outreach was conducted in part in this area during April 17-19.  Free medical care was provided as a vehicle to present the Gospel message in the communities of Silay and Handumanan.  Over 2200 people were reached during the three day outreach.

Part of the mission was to provide medical care to the poor of these communities.  People arrived at the site as early as 0400 so they could have an opportunity to see a doctor or a dentist.  Many cannot afford the cost of tooth extraction, and they arrive at these free medical/dental outreaches with many infected teeth that cause them great pain.

They are provided physical comfort with the removal of the infected teeth, and spiritual comfort with the opportunity to hear and accept the Gospel message.

Tiphany was very excited to see some friends from Okinawa, and she had a great time working with them in the dental area of the outreach.  This is her second participation in these missions, the first being two years ago in Palawan.  It is a great way for our children to reach out to the children of the local community and to share the love of Jesus with them.

We had a great opportunity to meet with the pastors of Christians in Action during the mission.  It was no small feat to get everyone here as there are pastors on the islands of Palawan, Luzon, Romblon and Negros.

It was great to hear from Pastor Glenn as he shared about the future of Christians in Action and the direction of Christians in Action in the Philippines.

It was great to meet with everyone!
