Manapla - Redeemer of the World Church
Yesterday was truly a remarkable day for us in missionary life!

We were invited to speak at Redeemer of the World Church in Manapla. The church is located an hour from Bacolod. For those of you familiar with the terrain here, that means an hours worth of back roads, rice patties, sugar cane fields, bamboo huts and the host of palm trees that make this place so beautiful.

We arrived at the church which is an old two story home. In the upper room about 50-60 people gathered for praise and worship. I noticed the drum set. It was broken, rusty, and pieces literally fell off during worship. But oh, what a beautiful noise it made!

When worship started I felt the floor to the old house shake. I wondered if the floors of heaven were shaking just the same. The worship was awesome! It was awesome because it symbolized us taking the broken things of our life and offering them to the Lord, and His acceptance of them.

I learned so much about worship in that hour, in that small town in the middle of no where with broken down equipment.

On the drive home I was looking at the bamboo huts, sugar cane fields, and palm trees that make this place so beautiful and at that moment realized that we are here … we are on the mission field … and loving what God is allowing us to do, and the things we are allowing Him to do to us.
