Align Multimedia has been proud to partner with Rifle Football to provide our weekly online show, Rifle Football Weekly.
As many are now aware, a controversial incident took place in that 3A state semi-finals game involving an Align Multimedia volunteer and a member of the Fort Morgan High School administration.
This video was made by Align Co-Owner and Rifle Assistant Coach, Ryan Mackley, and then sent to the Colorado High School Athletic Association on December 19th 2014 to explain Align Multimedia’s process and equipment.
Align Multimedia and the Rifle High School Football program were accused of cheating by the Fort Morgan High School Athletic Director, Kyle Bules, in an email sent to CHSAA on November 24. CHSAA place the Rifle Football program on restriction on December 4. In the course of their investigation, CHSAA representatives asked no questions of Align Multimedia or the volunteer videographer in question. CHSAA placed the Rifle program on restriction based on solely on Mr. Bules letter and and did so before Align or representatives of Rifle High School were able to provide any evidence to counter Mr. Bules’ claims.
This video was put together and sent to CHSAA after their decision was handed down, to show that the Fort Morgan AD was clearly mistaken as to many of the details in his allegations. Align also contends that the very theory that he alleged was seriously flawed. We can hardly think of a less subtle or more ham-fisted way of trying to get away with spying than to purposely place a man with Rifle Football hat and Rifle Football sweatshirt in the middle of the FMHS sideline with a eye-catching assortment of camera and audio gear and asking him to relay information back to the Rifle sideline in a manner that is loud enough to be audible to those around him. Mr. Bules also wishes people to believe that, when confronted, two different people from Align immediately confessed to him. This alleged scenario is anything but clandestine and begs the question: who in their right mind would implement such a strategy and expect to get away with it?
Both CHSAA and Fort Morgan are now backing away from any allegations of cheating and/or unethical behavior, but the original punishment still remains in place.
Align is making this video public only after CHSAA officials commented to the press, giving them false information that hurts the reputation of our company.
